Also, I read Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass” which helped inspire me as I pedaled. Here’s one of my favourite quotes from “Song for the Open Road”:

Good luck, man. It’s a great journey from coast to coast. I made a rule with the people I rode with: if someone wanted to stop and see/touch/lick something we always stopped. I’m sure you’ll do the same.
